University students participated in community environmental problems by investigating junked cars. The students gained experience in problem identification, research design, and field investigation. The students also received sociopolitical experience by presenting their findings to the city commission. (MR)

Provides a brief synopsis of activities offered during a winter ecology course developed for middle school students and their parents.
