To supplement and extend the offerings in the fields of industrial arts and vocational education, instructions in the use of the airbrush in design oriented activities are presented in this manual. It is written for and directed to the following types of programs: (1) high school--drafting, graphic arts; (2) vocational school--drafting, commercial arts, graphic arts; (3) junior college/technical institute--drafting, technical illustration, graphic arts; (4) college (industrial arts)--drafting, graphic arts, photography, industrial design; (5) college (technology)--drafting, manufacturing, design, graphic communication; (6) college (art)--design, advertising, illustration. The eleven sections cover (1) introduction to the airbrush, (2) equipment and materials, (3) preparing the drawing, (4) preparation of equipment, (5) techniques of operation, (6) practice exercises, (7) rendering basic shapes, (8) cleaning and maintenance, (9) errors, (10) rendering problems, and (11) tips for the classroom teacher. Instructions and descriptions in each section are accompanied by graphic illustrations. (BL)
