McCarthy, Cavan – International Library Review, 1978
The effects of the lack of development on medical libraries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America are described, based on personal experiences and reports in the professional literature. It is suggested that underdeveloped countries develop libraries like the BIREME in Brazil to serve as regional network centers for medical information systems. (VT)

Examines the decline in funding to Nigerian university libraries as a result of harsh economic conditions in Nigeria and the effects on user satisfaction with information services provided by the libraries.
