What should be taught in a library instruction program for general biology students is presented and two ways of providing the instruction are discussed. The two methods, lecture-demonstration and guided exercise are described, and evaluated for their effectiveness. (7 references) (Author)

This article presents analysis and survey results of a program designed for bibliographic instruction at Wabash College. The project employed trained student assistants as the primary agents for information transfer. The student assistants worked in closely structured courses that demanded regular library use.
