Tent, J. Clark, J. E. – Journal of Phonetics, 1980
Describes an experiment designed to verify the notion that many slips of the tongue go undetected and demonstrates that phonemic slips of the tongue are perceived less often than nonphonemic slips of the tongue. Findings also indicate that the latter disturb perception of segments in the rest of the sentence more than the former. (Author/MES)

Klatt, Dennis H. – Journal of Phonetics, 1975

Moskowitz, Breyne Arlene – Journal of Phonetics, 1975
A distinction is made between the acquisition of phonetics and of phonology. Their interaction and the ways in which they interfere with each other are discussed. Data on the acquisition of English fricatives for several children are given, and are analyzed separately for the phonological and phonetic aspects of acquisition. (Author/CLK)

Schuckers, Gordon H.; Lefkov, Carol S. – Journal of Phonetics, 1979
Twenty-four normal, misarticulation-free second-grade children participated in tasks designed to test their ability to perceive misarticulations in contextual speech. Results indicate that children are able to successfully identify sentences in which misarticulated words occur in addition to specific misarticulated words within sentences. (SW)
