The relationship was examined between six scales of the Locus of Control for Three Achievement Domains (LOCITAD), the Nowicki-Strickland Locus of Control Scale, and the Rotter Internal-External Scale. Subjects were 140 adolescent boys and girls. Significant correlations provided some support for LOCITAD's validity. (Author/GDC)

The study examined the effects of group relaxation training/large muscle exercise and parental involvement on attention to task, impulsivity, and locus of control among 34 hyperactive boys. Following treatment both experimental groups recorded significantly higher attention to task, lower impulsivity, and lower locus of control scores. (Author/CL)

Examined the effectiveness of group counseling, focusing on elimination of self defeating behaviors in 60 learning disabled children. Results of pre- and posttest measures indicated that compared to controls, children in the counseling group had higher aspirations, lower anxiety, and significantly higher internal locus of control scores. A sample of 48 American Olympic contenders was compared with a sample of 63 undergraduate education majors with respect to scores on Cattell's Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire and on three other scales.
