This master plan for 1993-98 is Patrick Henry Community College's (PHCC's) long-range planning document, designed to guide the college through the 5-year period. Section I provides background information on the history of the college; community characteristics; population trends in Martinsville, Virginia, and the surrounding counties of Patrick, Henry, and Franklin, which comprise PHCC's service area; the racial, gender, and age composition of the service area; employment in the area; per capita median family income for the area; social problems; and education in the service area. Section II presents enrollment data, including annualized full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollments, headcount and FTE's full- and part-time enrollment, male and female enrollments, enrollment by ethnicity, enrollment by categories, day and evening headcount enrollment, headcount enrollment by age groups, financial aid awards, and sources and uses of funds. Section III describes the planning process used at PHCC, the process used to develop goal statements, and the college's mission statement. In addition, this section presents the college's long-range goals with respect to curriculum and instruction; student development; academic support; college and community partnership; accessibility; human resources; facilities; organization, leadership, and administrative processes; finance; and technology.
