Peitao Zhu; Ching-Chen Chen; Qiu Wang; Melissa M. Luke; Yanhong Liu – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2025
Objective: This study aimed to validate the Cultural Humility and Enactment Scale (CHES) through (a) examining its factor structure with multiple samples; (b) employing item response theory (IRT) analysis to examine its item-level characteristics; (c) reducing potential redundancies among items; and (d) conducting measurement invariance (MI)…

Cho, Yongrae; Choi, Younghee; Kim, Sunyoung; Hong, Sehee – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2018
We examined the factor structure and other psychometric properties of the Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN) in Korean nonclinical (N1 = 457, N2 = 444) and clinical undergraduate samples (N3 = 12). Results support the revised 3-factor structure and applicability of the SPIN as a measure yielding valid and reliable scores of social anxiety to Koreans.

Jacobs, Karen; Struyf, Elke – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2013
Socioemotional guidance of students has recently become an integral part of education, however no instrument exists to measure integrated socioemotional guidance. Huang, Yun-Chen; Lin, Shu-Hui – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2015
This study aimed to develop and validate the Attitude Toward Calculus Inventory (ATCI). Results from three studies are reported that establish the reliability and validity of this instrument. Leuty, Melanie E. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2013
Test-retest data on Super's Work Values Inventory-Revised for a group of predominantly White ("N" = 995) women (mean age = 23.5 years, SD = 8.07) and men (mean age = 21.5 years, SD = 5.80) showed stability in mean-level scores over a period of 1 year for the sample as a whole. However, low raw score and rank order stability coefficients…

Pistole, M. Carole; Roberts, Amber – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2011
This study investigated aspects of construct validity for the scores of a new long-distance romantic relationship measure. A single-factor structure of the long-distance romantic relationship index emerged, with convergent and discriminant evidence of external validity, high internal consistency reliability, and applied utility of the scores.…

Onwuegbuzie, Anthony J.; Roberts, J. Kyle; Daniel, Larry G. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2005
In this article, the authors (a) illustrate how displaying disattenuated correlation coefficients alongside their unadjusted counterparts will allow researchers to assess the impact of unreliability on bivariate relationships and (b) demonstrate how a proposed new "what if reliability" analysis can complement null hypothesis significance…

Swisher, John D.; And Others – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 1984
Assessed the reliability and validity of an instrument designed to assess the extent of alcohol and drug use. Factors in a school or community contributing to use of alcohol and drugs are identified. Uses of the results for school and community planning are included. (Author/JAC)

Mji, A.; Onwuegbuzie, Anthony J. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2004
R. J. Cruise and E. M. Wilkins's (1980) Statistical Anxiety Rating Scale (STARS), which measures levels of statistics anxiety, was administered to 169 technikon students (70.9% women) in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Evidence of score reliability and validity was provided, suggesting that the STARS can be used with this population.
