Akaeze, Hope O.; Wu, Jamie Heng-Chieh; Lawrence, Frank R.; Weber, Everett P. – Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, 2023
This paper reports an investigation into the psychometric properties of the COR-Advantage1.5 (COR-Adv1.5) assessment tool, a criterion-referenced observation-based instrument designed to assess the developmental abilities of children from birth through kindergarten. Using data from 8534 children participating in a state-funded preschool program…

Perry, John L.; Nicholls, Adam R.; Clough, Peter J.; Crust, Lee – Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science, 2015
Despite the limitations of overgeneralizing cutoff values for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA; e.g., Marsh, Hau, & Wen, 2004), they are still often employed as golden rules for assessing factorial validity in sport and exercise psychology. The purpose of this study was to investigate the appropriateness of using the CFA approach with these…

Dik, Bryan J.; Eldridge, Brandy M.; Steger, Michael F.; Duffy, Ryan D. – Journal of Career Assessment, 2012
Research on work as a calling is limited by measurement concerns. In response, the authors introduce the multidimensional Calling and Vocation Questionnaire (CVQ) and the Brief Calling scale (BCS), instruments assessing presence of, and search for, a calling. Study 1 describes CVQ development using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis…

Ryan, Rebecca G.; Wilson, Janie H.; Pugh, James L. – Teaching of Psychology, 2011
In this study, the authors assessed the psychometric properties of the Professor-Student Rapport Scale, the first scale to measure professor-student rapport. The scale was found to have adequate test-retest and internal-consistency reliability. In addition to these findings, measures used to determine convergent validity included the Working…

Winsberg, Suzanne; Ramsay, James O. – Psychometrika, 1981
A general method of scaling pairwise preference data is presented that may be used without prior knowledge about the nature of the relationship between an observation and the process giving rise to it. The method involves a monotone transformation and is similar to the B-SPLINE approach. (Author/JKS)

Schonemann, Peter H. – Psychometrika, 1972
Paper shows that an obvious generalization of the subjective metrics model by Bloxom, Horan, Carroll and Chang has a very simple algebraic solution which was previously considered by Meredith in a different context. (Author)

Martineau, Joseph A. – Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics, 2006
Longitudinal, student performance-based, value-added accountability models have become popular of late and continue to enjoy increasing popularity. Such models require student data to be vertically scaled across wide grade and developmental ranges so that the value added to student growth/achievement by teachers, schools, and districts may be…

Ronning, Royce R., Ed.; And Others – 1987
The 1985 Buros-Nebraska Symposium was devoted to the broad issue of the influence of cognitive psychology on testing and measurement. The (1) "Introduction: The Implications of Cognitive Psychology for Testing" (Royce R. Ronning et. al.) lists four major issues addressed by the symposium--cognitive psychology as a basis for questioning some…

Marsh, Herbert W.; And Others – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1991
A new adaptive procedure for assessing multiple dimensions of self-concept for children younger than 8 years was studied with a sample of 501 children from kindergarten through grade 2. Use of the Self-Description Questionnaire with young children was supported by factor analysis. Practical and theoretical implications are discussed. (SLD)
