The changes in existing specialties and the demographic composition of medical school classes suggested that the predictive validity of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator should be reexamined. Results for 75 medical students and 248 undergraduates suggest that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator appears to sample only 3 bipolar personality dimensions rather than the 4 that the use of "type tables" implies.
