In an effort to delineate possible areas of consensus concerning appropriate attitudes and behaviors for medical educators in a variety of settings, researchers in offices of medical education were interviewed. A list of behaviors that emphasized sensitivity, responsiveness, and flexibility was produced. (MLW)

Through the study reported here the investigators attempted to ascertain whether an eight-week course for clinical teachers would result in discernible changes in the individual's awareness of his teaching style. Conclusions indicate that participants increased awareness of alternative styles and methods of teaching. (Editor/PG)

A study of interrater reliability among 17 faculty members assessing medical student case reports revealed marked disparities in the criteria raters felt to be important and an unacceptable spread in the ratings given. A standardized assessment instrument is recommended instead. (MSE)
