This glossary, which is in its fifth edition, aims to standardize the use and meaning of terms in the field of microphotography and microreproduction. It provides descriptive definitions of processes, equipment, acronyms, associations, material, units of measure, and trade names. Some terms are marked as "deprecated" in order to discourage their continued use. A table of standard metric system units which the National Micrographic Association recommends for use in the industry is appended. (JY)
