Pablo, Renato Y. – Gerontologist, 1977
This study monitored the impact of intra-institutional relocation upon the mortality and morbidity of movers and nonmovers over a period of 30 months. Uhlenberg, Peter – Gerontologist, 1995
While research on functional decline in later life has expanded knowledge on aging, theories of functional transitions are needed. Lane, Terry Saunders; Feins, Judith D. – Gerontologist, 1985
Examined whether elderly-headed households live in dwellings too large for their needs. Demonstrates that most elderly households do not underutilize housing space. Shrestha, Laura B.; Rosenwaike, Ira – Gerontologist, 1996
Evaluates whether trends in the prevalence of disability among the aged can be investigated using the 1980 U.S. Census' public transportation question and the 1990 query on mobility limitation. Results suggest that census data may be a suitable data source to study mobility limitation patterns in the small subgroups of the population that are…

Beaver, Marion L. – Gerontologist, 1979
Describes how older people arrive at a decision to move and identifies some of the correlates of successful adjustment to relocation. Findings suggest that while the stress of moving should not be underestimated, neither should the resilience of the older person to participate in a decision that concerns him. (Author)

Morris, Woodrow W.; And Others – Gerontologist, 1990
Used two samples of older adults (N=1,153; N=420) in refinement of Iowa Self-Assessment Inventory (ISAI). Factor analyses resulted in modification of original 6-scale inventory to inventory of 7 scales: economic resources, anxiety/depression, physical health, alienation, mobility, cognitive status, and social support. The original ISAI was…
