Livingston, Ronald B.; Gray, Robert M.; Haak, Ruth A. – Assessment, 1999
Examined the internal consistency of three tests from the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery (R. Reitan and D. Wolfson, 1992) with a sample of 334 children, 9 to 14 years of age. Gives reliability coefficients for the Seashore Rhythm Test, two forms of the Speech Sounds Perception Test, and the Aphasia Screening Test. (SLD)

Nadler, Jodi D.; And Others – Assessment, 1994
Using the original validation sample for the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery, a discriminant function analysis was performed to determine the best set of weights for the measures in its Impairment Index. Findings suggest that an empirically derived set of weights is probably no more useful than equal weighting commonly used. (SLD)

Coleman, A. Rand; Moberg, Paul J.; Ragland, J. Daniel; Gur, Ruben C. – Assessment, 1997
Measures of repetitive finger movement are used in neuropsychological evaluation of children and adults. A comparison of the Light Beam Finger and Foot Tapping Device with the Halstead-Reitan Finger Tapping Test (R. Reitan, 1979) for 33 adults shows similar psychometric properties for both and moderate to high correlations between the measures.…

Kelly, Mark D. – Assessment, 1995
The performance of 42 hearing-impaired children and 42 matched hearing peers was examined on the Category, Tactual Performance, and Trail Making tests of the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery for Older Children. The major finding was that performance of deaf students was similar to that of hearing controls. (SLD)

Arnold, Bill R.; And Others – Assessment, 1994
This study investigated the effect of acculturation on Halstead-Reitan neuropsychological test performance on nonimpaired Hispanic Americans using 3 groups of 50 subjects: Mexican American, Anglo-American, and Mexican. A significant effect for acculturation was found on several measures. Clinical and research applications are discussed. (SLD)

Matarazzo, Joseph D. – American Psychologist, 1990
Increasingly neuropsychologists are under pressure, particularly in child custody and personal injury litigation, to justify the validity of the tests upon which their assessments are based. Reviews research on the validity of clinical opinions based on tests and concludes that test scores must be used in conjunction with life history and current…
