A Study of Faith Integration on Student and Faculty Relationship at Christian Higher Education Institutions

This research study was conducted to explore faith integration and learning practices and its possible effect on student and faculty relationships. The research study utilized a phenomenological approach to collect data. Eighteen students and 10 faculty participated in this study. Participants were asked questions about faith integration and learning practices and their effect on student and faculty relationships through the lens of lived experiences. The literature review reports on the history of Christian higher education, the evaluation of student and faculty relationships, and the needs of adult learners. The data, terms, and clusters of words were analyzed to extract themes. The qualitative data were used to evaluate how faith integration and learning occurs in an online doctoral course and if the use of biblical content influences student and faculty relationships. The study found that faith integration and learning occur in all courses at a Christian university. Themes to support the implementation were extracted, analyzed, and discussed. The research concluded that the use of biblical content has a positive effect on student and faculty relationship. The discussion section reports on the data findings and provides implications for best practice and suggests future research.
