Describes variations in patterns of help to disabled elderly widows when caregiving adult daughters work and when they do not. Mothers of the two groups received the same total number hours of help from all sources combined. Working daughters provided less personal care and cooking than did nonworkers, with the difference being offset by purchased help. (Author/ABB)
