Shipley, Bill – Structural Equation Modeling, 2002
Describes a method for choosing rejection probabilities for the tests of independence that are used in constraint-based algorithms of exploratory path analysis. The method consists of generating a Markov or semi-Markov model from the equivalence class represented by a partial ancestral graph and then testing the d-separation implications. (SLD)
Descriptors: Algorithms, Markov Processes, Path Analysis

Shipley, Bill – Structural Equation Modeling, 2003
Shows how to extend the inferential test of B. Shipley (2000), which is applicable to recursive path models without correlated errors, to a class of recursive path models that includes correlated errors. Discusses when the extended model is and is not superior to classical structural equation modeling. (SLD)

Wolfle, Lee M. – Structural Equation Modeling, 1999
Researchers interested in linear causal models discovered that a genetic biologist, Sewall Wright, had laid the groundwork for these models over nearly 50 years. This annotated bibliography covers Wright's development of the method of path coefficients. (Author/SLD)

Hatcher, Larry – Structural Equation Modeling, 1996
Presents an approach (designed for beginners) to using PROC CALIS, a Statistical Analysis System (SAS) procedure, to perform path analyses using observed variables. The approach begins with the development of a figure to illustrate the researcher's theoretical model, and then converts the figure into a PROC CALIS program. (SLD)
