To complement an online registration program, Boston College has students who are appointed to the position of freshman registration advisor. The advisors work from mid-May through orientation weekend. Freshmen welcome the opportunity to talk to other students about courses, instructors, work load and major requirements. (MLW)

A study showed that the longer students have been at the University of California at Santa Barbara, the more negative their feelings about the available academic advising.
