Examines the validity of three dimensions of aesthetic perception: hedonic value, arousal, and uncertainty. Hedonic interest and arousal factors were found to differ from factors previously reported, while the uncertainty factor paralleled that previously reported. (Author/RH)

Compares the effects of interpersonal distance, number of people, acquaintance level, and sex on perceived crowding and discomfort in two cultures. Data obtained from 90 eighth and ninth graders indicate that distance is more important a variable than number and that males are more sensitive to crowding than are females. (Author/RH)

Fifth and sixth grade children (N=172) were administered the Piers Harris Children's Self Concept Scale and a shortened version of the Children's Report of Parental Behavior Inventory. Results are discussed in terms of the effect of perceived parental behavior on children's self-concept. (CM)
