The Carkhuff Discrimination Rating Scale has been shown to predict a rater's accuracy in the judgment of therapeutic process. Following testing for discrimination, 23 Ss were shown four videotaped interviews with mental patients. Two measures assessed the Ss' accuracy of perception of the patients' verbal and behavioral interview performance. Results demonstrated highly significant correlations between discrimination scores and the two measures of the Ss' accuracy of perception of patients. (Author)
