Özdemir, Ahmet Sükrü; Göktepe Yildiz, Sevda – Eurasian Journal of Educational Research, 2015
Problem Statement: The SOLO model places responses provided by students on a certain level instead of placing students there themselves. SOLO taxonomy, including five sub-levels, is used for determining observed structures of learning outcomes in various disciplines and grade levels. On the other hand, the spatial orientation skill is the ability…

Kogo, Naoki; Strecha, Christoph; Van Gool, Luc; Wagemans, Johan – Psychological Review, 2010
Human visual perception is a fundamentally relational process: Lightness perception depends on luminance ratios, and depth perception depends on occlusion (difference of depth) cues. Neurons in low-level visual cortex are sensitive to the difference (but not the value itself) of signals, and these differences have to be used to reconstruct the…

Yonas, Albert; And Others – Child Development, 1987
A test for sensitivity to binocular disparity and a shape perception test were administered to four-month-olds. Results indicated that disparity-sensitive infants could perceive three-dimensional-object shape from kinetic and binocular depth information. (PCB)

Reid, David; Broadbridge, Jane – British Educational Research Journal, 1988
Examines the effect of perspective and color on the ability of 192 secondary school children in England to observe danger points in a typical kitchen scene. Reports that more able children perform significantly better than their peers, and that the type of color employed contributes significantly to the scores but gender does not. (GEA)

Richards, John E.; Rader, Nancy – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1981
Two experiments tested the effects of crawling-onset age, amount of crawling experience, and testing age on avoidance of the deep side of a visual cliff apparatus by human infants. Crawling-onset age disciminated between infants because crawling during the tactile phase interferes with later visual control of locomotion. (Author/RD)

McGurk, Harry; Jahoda, Gustav – Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, 1975
Tries to unravel some of the problems concerning the previous finding that increasing the number of depth cues in pictures has a depressing effect on spatial accuracy of three dimensional reconstruction of pictures. Evidence does not support a deficiency in perceiving pictorial depth in African children. (AM)

Nicholson, J. R.; And Others – Programmed Learning and Educational Technology, 1978
Discussion of stereoscopic and planoscopic diagrams as they relate to the level of understanding in depth relationships. Findings indicate a significantly lower understanding in stereoscopic diagrams when compared to a real three-dimensional situation. (JEG)

Groffman, Sidney – 1970
An experimental test of visual closure based on an information-theory concept of perception was devised to test the ability to discriminate visual stimuli with reduced cues. The test is to be administered in a timed individual situation in which the subject is presented with sets of incomplete drawings of simple objects that he is required to name…

Crawford, Connie M. – 1995
In 1988, 59 Kindergarten students were studied to determine the effect of "shadowing" on perceptual-motor learning. Shadowing is a method whereby the use of one's shadow provides visual feedback. The method developed from observing children's natural curiosity in creating shadows. Illuminated by sunlight outdoors or overhead projectors…
