Alvin Vista; Helyn Kim – Educational and Developmental Psychologist, 2025
Objective: Measurement tools for children's foundational skills provide important insights towards the developmental mechanisms of these domains. This study examines the structure of sensorimotor, visuospatial processing (VP), executive function (EF) skills and their interrelationship. The NEPSY is a widely-used neuropsychological instrument, but…

Peer reviewedBlixt, Sonja; Kitson, Donald L. – Psychology in the Schools, 1982
Investigated the factor structure of the McCarthy Screening Test with a sample of 555 children. Data were analyzed by a principal components analysis followed by a varimax rotation. Results indicated that the subtests all measure parts of the same attribute (cognitive and sensorimotor functions) in varying degrees. (Author/RC)

Peer reviewedPolubinski, Joseph; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1986
Beery's Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration was individually administered to 193 school-age children. Four factors were obtained, indicating that the test does not measure a unitary dimension of perceptual-motor development, but rather four distinct levels or stages for the age range of children investigated. Roberds, Jeannette – 1974
The scores of 79 second-grade pupils on the Ravens Colored Progressive Matrices and the Bender Gestalt were factor-analyzed using six different factor-analytic procedures. Sex, age, and vocabulary test scores were included in the analysis as marker variables. The original factor solutions were subjected to oblique transformation and the…

Broadhead, Geoffrey D.; Bruininks, Robert H. – Rehabilitation Literature, 1983
The underlying structure of the motor abilities represented by the "Short Form of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency," along with the consistency of the emerging factors by sex and two chronological age (CA) levels, were studied with 765 nondisabled children 4.6 to 14.6 years old. Montgomery, Margaret Anne Patricia; Weakland, Jean Marie – 1967
The effects of various rates of presentation were studied in combination with massed and spaced, concurrent and nonconcurrent, overt and covert practice modes on film-mediated perceptual performance. Selected values of the independent variables were investigated within a 3x3x2 factorial design, and the experimental treatments were randomly ordered…
