A preliminary report on performance contracting in the Wichita school district. (RY)

Two treatments, an individual behavior contract and group behavior games, were studied to determine if they reduced disruptive playground behavior. The 191 subjects were second- and fifth-grade students in two public schools. Results are discussed. (Author/MT)

The author's conclusion is that it is much more logical and economically feasible to provide a learning environment with a structured behaviorally stated relevant curriculum where teachers would have the freedom to do the job for which they have been hired rather than to deal with an outside agency.
