Members of a longitudinal study were classified on the basis of their drinking behavior. The core of traits which described the cohorts of each category of women drinkers were discernible to raters in the early adolescent period. Problem drinkers and abstainers had in common certain traits which suggested inadequate coping devices. (Author)

Thirty-two terminators and 28 continuers in personal counseling were compared on three measures derived from precounseling Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) data.
