Results are given of a study to investigate trait and social desirability consistencies when subjects describe themselves by answering True or False to 90 trait terms. (DB)

Personality patterns did not improve prediction from aptitude and achievement variables in the weight determination sample and in cross-validation actually cancelled out predictability from traditional measures. Prediction of college grades from high school grades and aptitude tests was, on the other hand. both accurate and consistent. (Author)

An item reversal is like the original item except that the apparent or inferred direction of meaning is changed from positive to negative or from negative to positive. The experimental subjects did not respond to the reversed items and the original items in a similar manner. (Author/DG)
