The following question is posed: can a close look into why a person does something which is uncharacteristic or out of character provide a window through which one might view underlying dynamics of that person's ongoing character development? An autobiographical account is provided. (Author/BJG)

Evidence of various but unitary shifts to political liberalization, greater intraceptiveness and self-determination, greater detachment from parents, and increased incidence of principled moral reason suggests that Peace Corps volunteers had undergone substantial self-redefinition. (Author/RC)

The Rasch Model was applied to the results of an academic self-concept test administered to junior high school students, and some items were eliminated. The resulting scale possessed several properties permitting its use in the measurement of school-induced change in self-concept. The questionnaire is appended. (Author/MV)
