Examined the relationships among interest and personality inventory responses of (N=275) scientific personnel. Operational replications were performed using two previous interest-personality studies as targets. Administered three self-concept instruments to 374 students in grades 7, 9, and 11. By using total scores as well as subscale scores, indications were obtained of global self-concept as well as perceptions of various dimensions of self. Correlations between Rotter's Internal-External (I-E) Control of Reinforcement Scale and the Omnibus Personality Inventory (OPI) were predicted based on previous research and a theoretical expectation of a relationship between I-E and adjustment. These findings have implications for counseling and further research using the I-E variable. (Author)
