The Personal Orientation Inventory (POI) is supposedly resistant to faking. This assumption was experimentally tested with 156 naive adult college and military participants by manipulating instructional set. Participants were administered Holland's VPI and Jackson's Personality Research Form (PRF). One-way analyses of variance revealed that PRF variables could not differentiate Holland's six types. Examined the relationships among interest and personality inventory responses of (N=275) scientific personnel. Operational replications were performed using two previous interest-personality studies as targets. Canonical correlation analyses indicated that interest-personality domains are related in a logically consistent manner. (RC)

Administered three self-concept instruments to 374 students in grades 7, 9, and 11. By using total scores as well as subscale scores, indications were obtained of global self-concept as well as perceptions of various dimensions of self. Correlations between Rotter's Internal-External (I-E) Control of Reinforcement Scale and the Omnibus Personality Inventory (OPI) were predicted based on previous research and a theoretical expectation of a relationship between I-E and adjustment.
