Measures of life stress, locus of control, world view, and values were administered to 91 Rosebud Sioux. Results provide some limited norms for local use of these measures and descriptive data for this tribe. The measures provide examples of culturally relevant, nondiscriminatory instruments for assessment of Native Americans. (Author)

The study examined the antecedents and correlates of general life satisfaction as reported by 108 gifted and talented young women. Results of the six-year longitudinal analyses supported the predicted centrality of instrumental self perception to social self esteem, occupational confidence, and general life satisfaction.
