A survey was conducted to determine the nature of instruction in ethics in schools of pharmacy and to update a similar study conducted during the early 1960s. Based on responses from 52 schools it was determined that instruction in ethics on a formal basis may have declined. (Author/MLW)

The experience gained in three semesters with three students in an internship program for future pharmacy professors is reported. Students spent the equivalent of about one work day a week on the course, each completed two or more special projects incorporated into the department, and participated in departmental activities and meetings. Components of the professional role of the pharmacist were studied. Role components evaluated were people, status, and science.
