A survey was conducted to determine the nature of instruction in ethics in schools of pharmacy and to update a similar study conducted during the early 1960s. Based on responses from 52 schools it was determined that instruction in ethics on a formal basis may have declined. (Author/MLW)

The experience gained in three semesters with three students in an internship program for future pharmacy professors is reported. Students spent the equivalent of about one work day a week on the course, each completed two or more special projects incorporated into the department, and participated in departmental activities and meetings. An attempt to present a quantitative picture of the growth of the practice of citation in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and to provide some measure of the degree of influence of both authors and individual papers is described. (Author/MLW)

Administrators should have some clear-cut objectives that the faculty can be apprised of in such a way that they can make informed decisions about how to allocate their efforts. A literature review of productivity in pharmacy education is provided, and evaluation as an administrative function is discussed. (MLW)

Components of the professional role of the pharmacist were studied. Role components evaluated were people, status, and science.
