Anderson, Shannon L. – French Review, 1975
Examines the similarity of clitic to other syntactic relationships, such as modifier plus noun, and demonstrates that the consistency of linking in each case may reflect a syntactic unity justifying obligatory liaison. (MSE)

Hirst, D. J. – Linguistics, 1974
A coherent theory of intonation in relation to syntax has not yet been formulated, partly because there is no satisfactory theory of context within a transformational generative grammar, and partly because intonation studies have been concerned with phonetic descriptions of intonation contours. This article calls for an intonation theory. (CK)

Hirst, D. J. – Linguistics, 1976
This article presents a description of intonation in English in terms of the relationship between the syntactic surface structure of a given sentence and certain distinctive intonative features.

Gussmann, Edmund – Studia Anglica Posnaniensia, 1973
It is asserted that the treatment of intonation within the framework of generative grammar has not shown whether surface syntactic structure is sufficient for formulation of phonological rules. An attempt is made to demonstrate that within English phonology reference to deep structure is necessary. (Available from: See FL 508 214). (RM)

McNeill, David – 1968
This chapter, to be included in "Carmichael's Manual of Child Psychology," edited by P.A. Mussen, deals with the connection between the acquisition of language and the growth of intellect, and the connection between both of these and the process of maturation. The author feels that various theories of development cannot account for the child's…

Nguyen Hy Quang; Duong Thanh Binh – 1975
These papers were written as supporting documents for a colloquium on the Vietnamese language. The first catalogues and analyzes Vietnamese vowels, diphthongs, consonants and tones. The second analyzes some facets of Vietnamese syntax. (CHK)
