Reilly, Richard; Echternacht, Gary – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
Criterion-keying of interest inventories involves selecting items which best distinguish a group of incumbents in a particular occupation from another group intended to represent the population of interest. This practice is questioned here and data are presented to support the author's contention. (Author/JKS)

Taylor, Dianne L.; Tucker, Mary L. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 1995
Describes two invariance tests, the jackknife procedure and Procrustean rotation, and applies them in a discriminant analysis for this heuristic study. Invariance testing helps to prevent overemphasis on findings of statistical significance and overgeneralization of a research result, and thus is gaining favor as an indicator of result importance.…

Watson, Charles G.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1984
Compared a suicide-completion group to a psychiatric control sample on the 13 traditional MMPI scales, three experimental item pools, and eight profile patterns earlier described as indicative of suicidal tendencies (N=84). The results argue against the use of the MMPI at this time to predict suicide. (JAC)
