In order to enhance the therapeutic counseling potential of campus pastors, a brief orientation and training program in counseling was designed utilizing a client-centered orientation. The focus of training was on selected recorded interviews between clients and therapists and the reaction of the campus pastors to the interviews. (Author)

Discusses the use of undergraduate students as facilitators for abuse prone parent groups. Traditional preparation for group experience was inadequate and a three-phase training program was implemented to prepare students for the special demands faced when leading an abuse prone parent group. Discusses combining a theoretical teaching approach about group counseling with the experiential dimension of the students' actual experience in a group where theoretical learning takes place.
