To facilitate the functioning of family caretakers as care-givers who promote the independent role performance of patient-residents, a seminar was designed to change the atittudes of the 17 caretakers about "mental illness." Using a "demythologizing" approach, the leader induced a significant attitude change. (Author)

This article describes the author's experience in employing the fishbowl technique in group therapy with inmates at El Reno Federal Reformatory. Results indicate that this technique can be employed successfully in a correctional environment. (Author/HMV)

Motto, Jerome A. – Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, 1976
Patients (N=3,006) admitted to a psychiatric in-patient service because of a suicidal state were contacted to determine if post-discharge plans were followed. Half of those who refused treatment were contacted by telephone or letter on a set schedule. Evidence is that a high-risk population for suicide can be identified. (Author)
