Designed for schools too small to have an artist-in-residence program, the Artist's Environment Program allows students to visit studios of local artists/craftspersons. An overnight canoe trip by seventh and eighth grade students on Lake George, New York, exemplifies one aspect of extending the curriculum, both for recreation and environmental education.
