The Development of a Weekend College Program.
Longacre, Gregory A.
During a one-year period from February 1985 to February 1986, a task force explored the possibility of a Weekend College for Otterbein College, a small liberal arts institution located in Westerville, Ohio. This report provides information on the myriad of considerations for developing a Weekend College program (e.g., staffing, budgeting, facilities, advertising, marketing, curriculum, and program evaluation). Following the description of the development of the Weekend College, the report contains detailed appendixes (which make up the bulk of the document) on Weekend College programs at other Ohio Colleges (Hiram College, Baldwin-Wallace College, Findlay College, College of Mount Saint Joseph, Heidelberg College, and Ohio Dominican College). Information is included on majors, enrollments, schedules, advertising, student population, and staffing of these college programs. The final appendix provides a report on the first year (1986) of operation of the Weekend College program at Otterbein. (KC)
