Engineering Competition--A Win-Win Event for All
Sweeney, Preston
Tech Directions, v70 n2 p15-16 Sep 2010
Hosting an engineering competition can bring great success to a technology department. Development and planning of an event can prove frustrating at times, but it pays off in the end. The author describes the first-ever engineering competition held at Maple Avenue Middle School in Saratoga Springs, New York, which provided an evening of creative thinking, team building, and problem solving. The Maple Avenue Engineering Competition also provided a great opportunity for the school, students, parents, and community members. During the competition, parents, community members, and administrators walked from room to room admiring the teamwork and creativity of each student.
