Integration of staff development and career education concepts is examined from the following viewpoints: training (through graduate courses, conferences, or staff development programs); trainers (in-house or visiting experts); timing (long-term, short-term); location; and who should be involved. A system of communication among faculty, students, and parents called advisement as it functions at McCluer North High School is studied. Elements of this career education staff development program that are examined include: goals of the system, structure, adjustments made by the school, tasks, training, and program improvement committee.
