Implementing Title IX and Attaining Sex Equity. Application Materials for Physical Activity Personnel. Postsecondary Material.
National Foundation for the Improvement of Education, Washington, DC. Resource Center on Sex Roles in Education.
The materials included in this booklet are designed for use by participants in Application Session A and B for Physical Activity Personnel working in postsecondary institutions. These materials are initial drafts prepared for field testing only. They are not the final products to be delivered at the completion of the project. The materials include basic guidelines for Title 9 compliance, various assessment forms, models for program planning and development, and case studies identifying discriminatory practices. These materials are one component of a multi-component training model developed by the Resource Center on Sex Roles in Education under a sub-contract with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). The training model is designed to assist educational personnel and interested citizens in the implementation of Title 9 of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the attainment of sex equity in education. The training model will be utilized and tested in the 20 regional workshops of the CCSSO's Title 9 Equity Workshops Project. (Author/JEL)
