Conducted a needs assessment of 261 students to assess career planning needs by class and to make program recommendations. Results showed 68 percent of the students reported little chance of changing majors. Freshmen and sophomores had more career planning needs. Career programs developed in response to these needs are described. (JAC)

Transportation systems management (TSM) programs are discussed, particularly the 1977 program of the University of California, San Francisco, which led to traffic reduction and improved vehicle flow. At present, long-range planning in education is largely exploratory and far from comprehensive. The conceptual framework and techniques now available have the potential to offer new insights, sharpen the imagination, and provide the impetus to explore needed changes and directions in teacher education.
