Working on What Works: A New Model for Collaboration
Berzin, Stephanie; O'Brien, Kimberly; Tohn, Susan
School Social Work Journal, v36 n2 p15-26 Mar 2012
As the classroom is an influential setting for students, new models for collaboration between teachers and school social workers are essential for meeting student needs. This article discusses the literature and model for one such intervention, classroom solutions: working on what works. Through pilot data presented from nine classrooms and two hundred students, the article culls lessons from the intervention experience around collaboration and group goal setting. Implications for school social work practice and avenues for future research are discussed.
