Two classes of fourth-grade students received hearing conservation instruction in two one-hour sessions. Significant increases in knowledge concerning noise-induced hearing loss and hearing conservation practices were seen in both classes. The effects of wrist weights on the self-injurious and adaptive behaviors of a six-year-old boy with profound mental retardation were evaluated.
