Myford, Carol M.; Cline, Frederick A. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 2001
Used data from a classroom-based performance assessment to document the impact of participation in a short-term educational program, the LinkUP! program. Rippey, Robert M. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1979
Differences among impartiality, objectivity, partisanship, fanaticism, and skepticism are viewed as relevant to the role of the evaluator. The desirability of establishing a community of minds committed to argumentation before beginning an evaluation is suggested. (Author/CTM)

Smith, Nick L. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1983
The four studies reported here are examples of empirical studies of evaluation which inform evaluation theory and practice by investigating beliefs held about the evaluation process. These studies all concern the theme of citizen involvement in education, especially the use of citizen judgments in program evaluation. (BW)

Blacher, Jan – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1985
Programs to educate severely handicapped children have usually been evaluated with respect to student achievement. Although this approach is reasonable, a multivariate approach that examines the impact on the child's family may be more relevant. Programs to teach the parents and to reduce institutionalization should also be studied. (GDC)

O'Neill, Tom – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1995
The evaluation of a science education project for teachers in Durban (South Africa) illustrates some problems inherent in the application of the fourth-generation evaluation approach of Guba and Lincoln. One of the strongest concerns is that full participation by stakeholders may be an unrealistic assumption. (SLD)

Cousins, J. Bradley – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1996
Participant observations and key informant interviews were used in three case studies, each case corresponding to a different degree of researcher involvement in a Canadian school district's participatory evaluation. The contextual differences observed are discussed, and the usefulness of the approach to studying evaluation methods is described.…

Powell, Douglas R. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1982
Further development of research regarding the effectiveness of parent education programs depends upon a shift in conventional strategies of program evaluation. Current evaluation methods have been dominated by an interest in the outcomes of parent education programs. It is suggested that program evaluations should examine relationships between…

Olmstead, Patricia P.; Rubin, Roberta I. – Studies in Educational Evaluation, 1982
Four evaluation studies concerning the relationship between parent behaviors/attitudes and child achievement are presented. In each study, parental data were obtained either by direct observation or lengthy face-to-face interviews. In all four studies, significant relationships were found between parental measures and child achievement. (Author/LC)
