Twenty-four undergraduate volunteers participated in a sexual enhancement workshop, designed to explore the emotional aspects of sex through the use of small group discussion and sexually explicit films. Results indicated that participants experienced significant change toward acceptance of masturbation and a lessening of sex-related anxiety. (SJL)

Instead of approaching counseling and guidance department evaluations with fear, apprehension and mistrust, counselors can benefit themselves and their school programs by responding to recommendations outlined above. A survey and case studies of southern institutions show a great diversity in approaches to instructional evaluation and considerable unevenness in both the effectiveness of the systems in achieving their purposes and in the validity of some of the practices used. (Editor/LBH)

A longitudinal program evaluation approach used in the Vermont system of care for children and adolescents is described. The method focuses on movement between residential placements and compares system functioning to service system values using a person-level longitudinal database. This methodology can be useful in a number of fields. (SLD)

School records; teacher, parent, and child ratings; and children's drawings about family, school, and the program were evaluated for low-income, at-risk children in a school-age child care program and compared to a control group that made no drawings. The drawings provided qualitative data that enriched program evaluation. (SK)

This eight chapters of this special issue introduce the use of a template to specify program components as a new tool for program evaluation. The template articulates the components needed for program delivery and provides a systematic method for assessing program implementation. (SLD)
