New items were written for the sensation seeking scale in an attempt to develop new scales representative of hypothesized dimensions of sensation seeking. Four new factors were thrill and adventure seeking, experience seeking, disinhibition and boredom susceptibility which was retained as a subscale for males only. (Author/CG)

Contrary to the hypothesis, obese Ss were significantly higher in feminity scores. Analysis of subtests revealed that the major contributing factor was greater emotional reactivity of the obese. The author concluded that the interaction of obese characteristics make it difficult to test the hypothesis on standard M-F scales. (Author)

The article not only establishes the salient dimensions of self-concept in adults, but also considers whether these dimensions change over time.
