Fenouillet, Fabien; Prokofieva, Victoria; Lorant, Sonia; Masson, Julien; Putwain, David W. – Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, 2023
In the absence of a contemporaneous measure, the present study aimed to validate a French language translation of the Multidimensional Test Anxiety Scale (MTAS). In addition, measurement invariance was tested for gender and age. The participants were 520 secondary school students aged 11-16 years. A four-factor model of the MTAS showed a good fit…

Ubuz, Behiye; Aydinyer, Yurdagül – International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, 2017
The current study aimed to construct a questionnaire that measures students' personality traits related to "striving for understanding" and "learning value of geometry" and then examine its psychometric properties. Through the use of multiple methods on two independent samples of 402 and 521 middle school students, two studies…

Recently, Gotham et al. ("2007") proposed revised algorithms for the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) with improved diagnostic validity. The aim of the current study was to replicate predictive validity, factor structure, and correlations with age and verbal and nonverbal IQ of the ADOS revised algorithms for Modules 1 and 2…

Rose, David H.; And Others – Intelligence, 1986
This study investigated whether measures of habituation and dishabituation in early infancy predicted later intelligence. Results were compared with those from other comparable studies. It was argued that the psychometric acceptability of infant cognitive measures needs to be demonstrated before they can be considered to be potential predictors.…

Wenz, Friedrich V. – International Journal of Aging and Human Development, 1980
A suicide potential scale is constructed that fits the Guttman scale criteria. The mean suicide potential scores of various age groups support the cohort model with the exception of individuals 75 and older, where it appears that maturation factors play an important role in explaining suicidal behavior. Walker, Richard N. – Early Childhood Research Quarterly, 1992
A test battery that corresponded to the Gesell Developmental Assessment (GDA) was given to 400 4-6 year olds. A truncated version of the GDA had moderate reliability and predictive power. Experienced judges sometimes differed in their assessments of a child's developmental level and recommendations for grade placement. (GLR)

Charman, Tony; Taylor, Emma; Drew, Auriol; Cockerill, Helen; Brown, Jo-Anne; Baird, Gillian – Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, 2005
Objective: To examine the predictive validity of symptom severity, cognitive and language measures taken at ages 2 and 3 years to outcome at age 7 in a sample of children diagnosed with autism at age 2. Method: Twenty-six children diagnosed with autism at age 2 were re-assessed at ages 3 and 7 years. At each age symptom severity, cognitive and…

Konold, Timothy R.; Pianta, Robert C. – Applied Developmental Science, 2005
School readiness assessment is a prominent feature of early childhood education. Because the construct of readiness is multifaceted, we examined children's patterns on multiple indicators previously found to be both theoretically and empirically linked to school readiness: social skill, interactions with parents, problem behavior, and performance…
