Discusses situations through which citizens of all ages can come to understand in detail the issues and processes which inform our lives and our society, thus increasing awareness not only of the large variety of issues in government but of technicalities and processes of their resolution. (WL)

The results of the preliminary study indicate that while adult educators have not responded with an overwhelming enthusiasm to the opportunity to provide public affairs education through the State-Based Program, they have not neglected this opportunity. (Author)

The article is an attempt to introduce adult educators and other community leaders to the Forum. The Forum aims at a nationwide simultaneous dialogue about our country. Adult education could emerge as a permanent national necessity and an inseperable aspect of citizenship. (Author/BP)

The tradition of adult education in a democratic society is presented to serve as a prelude to a discussion of the community forum concept, a concept whose primary value is its direct orientation to the concerns of community people.
