Investigates strong points and shortcomings of peer and student evaluation of library faculty. Examples of evaluation plans in use at various university libraries are cited, and the instrument used at Southern University-Carbondale's library is examined. Study describing library support for faculty research on the 22 campuses of Pennsylvania State University used citation analysis to determine the availability of titles used for research by faculty at branch campuses in the University Libraries' collections and a questionnaire to identify methods used by this group to obtain resources. Predictive equations from Marchant's research on participative management and job satisfaction were tested using same data collection procedures and instruments that had been used to study 22 major U.S. academic libraries in 1970.
