A cross-year group and longitudinal study was conducted to investigate the influence of race on friendship preferences of pupils in a multi-racial, secondary school in Britain. Results indicate that students were more friendly to classmates of the same sex, regardless of race, than to classmates of the same race but other sex. (Author/AM)

Pupils from different ethnic backgrounds at a British comprehensive school were studied to determine how they stereotyped different ethnic groups.
