An investigation of the relationship between race and research output by examining the productivity of black and non-black holders of the Ph.D. in sociology, revealed that race had no predictive value in regard to the publication productivity of sociologists. (EH)

Atwater, Tony; Anokwa, Kwadwo – Journal of Black Studies, 1991
Analyzed 141 sentences from 10 articles in "Ebony" having to do with race relations and involving Black principals and White principals. Each sentence was coded for type (report, inference, or judgment), direction of bias, tone, and source. Found the content to be for the most part unbiased and neutral in tone. (DM)
