Welfare clients were selected and half were randomly assigned to Job Club program. Of continuing clients, 87 percent obtained jobs. Jobs obtained by Job Club clients were more likely to be enduring, nonsubsidized, and obtained by job-seeker's own efforts. Method appears to assure employment to all participating welfare clients.
